Ryan Wants to Stoke you out - Episode 10 - Squamish

by Ryan Berrecloth
Dec 14, 2010 at 15:54

Featured Riders: Dave Watson and Ross Measures

Watson is one of the guys that brought style into riding mountain bikes. One of the most impressive things about Watson is that he makes it look easy. He’s been pinned building one of the top clothing companies in the business, but still slays it when he’s on the bike. Ross can also throw his bike around at will.

It was good to team up with Dave and Ross to ride some trails.

yes... we have here in CZ realy freeeEEeeezzy, so we planning silvester (last days/new year days) go at south to Italy, Finale ligure, San Remo etc. and there i hope will be 10 degrees and only cloudy, rocky trails and we will TOTALLY STOKED, against that weather, what we have now... in big cities about 20-40cm of snow? good only for small kids and SNB jibbers Big Grin
So, Ryan, be happy that you can ride in 'Tshirt weather' Big Grin and not like us... http://www.pinkbike.com/photo/4814276/

 euh yes...why not?
  • + 1
flag FilipStarcevic (Dec 15, 2010 at 20:00)
because a-line is a much faster trail then half nelson, less immediate turns, bigger hucks, barely touching the brakes, where as half nelson is almost like a downhill pumptrack, making it sooo much harder on ure stamina then. Also half nelson was paid for by the squamish district so they made it so that every type of rider can ride it.

flag voltagerider  (Dec 15, 2010 at 20:13)
 Thats why I said a "MINI" a-line...
  • + 2
flag Waldon83 (Dec 15, 2010 at 22:14)
 I would say it's more like a 'confused' a-line

If you can't like up the whole trail, it's kind of lame tits

flag voltagerider  (Dec 16, 2010 at 14:16)
I liked it alot! Would be even more fun on a dj bike!
  • + 1
flag betsie  (Dec 18, 2010 at 11:49)
 I am with FilipStarcevic.
It is a Dh pump track, we put in not pedal strokes and cleared everything, riding it just like a big bike pump track.
Anyone can ride A-Line and you have to scrub everything in A-line to not over jump the jumps, but Half Nelson suits the rider who gets the most out of the trail by pumping and not pedalling.
I was lucky enough to be riding it with one of the builders, so even 1st time down every line was dialled :o)
I hope I am luck enough to get to ride it in 2011.
Just my opinion.

flag voltagerider  (Dec 18, 2010 at 11:55)
each one their opinions I guess, but I remember that for clearing some jumps you had to pedal a bit more...

Quick question: Does anyone know what kind of bike Dave Watson is riding now that he's no longer riding for Kona?

I can't figure out what he's on here, but I know in a Sombrio ad a while back he was on a Revolt... If you're just curious what he's choosing.
